Jeriko Estate is a family-owned boutique winery located just outside of the township of Hopland in southern
Mendocino County. Situated on 180 acres of beautiful vine-growing land, the property is bordered by the Russian River in the
east, and wooded hillsides to the west.
Established in 1997 vintner Danny Fetzer began by replanting the ranch with modern rootstocks and newly available
clones. Key to Jeriko’s philosophy is the use of biodynamic and organic farming practices to promote plant diversity
such as cover crops, and encourage soil balance without the use of synthetic chemical fertilizers, pesticides or fungicides.
Wines grown in this manner have more structural balance and require less manipulation during the vinification process; and
are good for animal life and the environment. Its common to see chickens, goats and sheep roaming the vineyards and hillsides
of the estate. "Utilizing the latest in winegrowing technology while respecting ancient cultural practices, a tread gently
upon the earth philosophy is practiced here at Jeriko Estate."
All of Jeriko’s wines are certified 100% organically grown by the CCOF and USDA, and the vineyard is
transitioning to being certified biodynamic by Demeter. "At Jeriko we use only estate grown fruit for our organically and
biodynamically produced wines".
