RICHARD THE LION HEART Our Richard the Lion-Heart is carefully blended,
using the very best barrels of our certified organic estate grown grapes including five varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot,
Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. This is one of less than a dozen California wines that actually has all five of the
classic Bordeaux red varietals in the blend. Wine critics typically compare it favorably to wines at twice the price and even
more, so it represents great Mendocino "bang for the buck." A full-bodied red with outstanding length. This wine starts
with aromas of raspberry and black olive with hints of leather and spice. Abundant red cherry fruit mid-palate with a touch
of blueberry-cassis in the finish. A solid finish that lingers with refined, smooth tannins. This wine has a tremendous future
ahead. It has been awarded six medals already including a GOLD at the Pacific Rim Int’l and three SILVER Medals.
CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Quite aromatic, this Cab shows the 21 months it spent in fine, small French oak barrels. Our blend for this
vintage is 83% Cabernet with 17% Merlot from our front vineyard. It benefits from so-called "long hang time" as Mother Nature
made us wait patiently until Oct. 23rd to pick it at the desired sugar level (many Cabernets were picked 3 to 6 weeks earlier).
Elegant and balanced. Uncork now or hold for five years.
MERLOT
Bright fruit flavors showing blueberry and cassis. Aromas of anise and leather. Strong finish with some tannins
and pepper note. Blended with 25% Cabernet Sauvignon that adds structure and body. Aged in small French oak barrels for 20
months.
SAUVIGNON BLANC
Our 14th vintage out of our back vineyard that we call "Randle Hill." Randle is Deborah’s maiden name.
This vineyard has consistently produced one of the best S.B.’s around and we’re very proud of it. Great aromas
of lemon drop or sweet lime with a hint of floral and tropical. We find flavors of kiwi, tangerine, and granny smith apples.
Our typical Yorkville long finish with lime zest and minerals. New Release not yet entered into competitions.
ELANOR OF AQUITAINE
A proprietor’s blend made after doing many blending trials and hand choosing our very best barrels of
Semillon (69%) and Sauvignon Blanc (31%). It is a classic wine made in the tradition of the Graves style Bordeaux Blanc. Our
special Queen of white wine is 100% barrel fermented and was aged for 8 months in small French oak barrels before bottling
to add great complexity. Some people say this is "the white wine for red wine drinkers."
We often hear comments that
our Eleanor is one of the most interesting and complex Californian white wines. Filled with apricot skin and citrus flavors
with tangerine, pineapple and lemon-grass. Aromas of candied grapefruit peel, green apple and vanilla. Ultra-clean finish,
rich mouthfeel. This wine is a meal, but also compliments shellfish, sushi and teriyaki.
