Charlie Barra has been farming grapes in Northern Mendocino County, Redwood Valley area, "forever". He finished his 61st harvest with the 2007 vintage and still farms over 200 acres of vineyard. Yes, that makes him a "seasoned grape grower", and one of the best at that.

The Barra family has a long ancestral history as growers of fine grapes, beginning in Italy and France, then migrating to California and Mendocino County at the turn of the last century."
