La Rocca Vineyards, the North Valley’s only organic winery boasting absolutely no chemicals and no sulfites.
Nestled in the Sierra Foothills in Forrest Ranch off Hwy. 32, 185 miles northeast of San Francisco, this 200-acre vineyard
is family owned and operated. The La Rocca Vineyards has been making award-winning wines for the last 20 years. Last year
at the Eco-Wine Fest in Santa Monica they won the Peoples Choice Award for "Best Chardonnay" over 100 other wineries.
Phil LaRocca and his family grow organic grapes ot their vineyard in northerern California's Sierra Nevada
foothills. Phil, a self taught winemaker, also makes organic wine. The family ships around 6,000 cases of merlot, chardonnay,
cabernet sauvignon, and other wines throughout the US and to Singapore, Japan, and Asia. Phil, who is chairman of the board
of directors of the California Certified Organic Farmers, grow grapes, and makes wine, organically because he knows it's better
for the soil, air, water, and animals, including people, that are associated with the vine yard or drink the wine. Growing
grapes organically includes using farming methods that nurture the soil, air and water. Through the process of totally excluding
the use of chemical fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides, all of LaRocca Vineyards receive organic certification by CCOF.
